The word duruk is common to all Bininj Gunwok dialects. Some southern dialects or south-western dialects (Mayali, Kundedjnjenghmi) have a synonym nagarndegen which is now rarely used. The word duruk can be singular or plural, shown by context, but for a marked plural form you can reduplicate the word like this: duruhduruk 'many dogs' |
