Notes (Njalenjale) |
Nungka is the free standing pronoun equivalent of the verb prefix ka- as in ka-VERB (but in the past tense, this prefix ka- becomes zero, i.e. nothing e.g ka-wurlebme 'he/she is swimming' but wurlebmeng 'he/she swam')
As for the other free standing pronouns, there is an element of emphasis. Also, in conversation when talking about one topic (person or thing) you can switch the topic to refer to a previously mentioned topic (person or thing) with the use of nungka. Ngaye nga-warnyak dja nungka ka-djare.
Sometimes the word can have a glottal stop (a sudden cut off) at the end in which case it would be spelt nungkah. |
Usage (Bale kabirri-yime?) |
1. Nungka baleh wam?
2. Kaluk ka-bebme.
